"Give a man some food and you will feed him for a day. Teach the same man how to fish and you will feed him as long as he is willing to fish!" Well, it doesn't go exactly like this, but, you get the idea.
In the past, I ran a pottery studio and fired to cone 9 - 10 reduction for dinnerware and ornamental pieces. I fired and sold Pit Fired , Raku , Sawdust Fired , Sagger Fired , Salt Fired and Ash Fired wared. Most of my firing of cone 06 to cone 6 have been of an oxydation type. Raku firing as well as the cone 9 - 10 firings have generally been only gas type firings.
