RIBS
|
|
These ribs are made from a flexible material that performs well and actually gets better with use (it is self-polishing.) Unlike rubber, this material will not develop burrs. In fact, the more you use it the nicer it becomes. They will actually burnish themselves as you use them. With five shapes, they cover a lot of what handbuilders and throwers need from a rib. Each rib shape is available in four hardnesses from very soft to very firm. You choose the shape and hardness that suits your clay and your working style. (Patent Pending) $ ea.

WIRE TOOL
( Mud Cutter )

( Patent Pending )
|
The Mudcutter (wire tool) could be the tool that you pick up the most. Used it on production pots cutting spouts and lugs, and also like a needle tool. The Mudcutter has been designed to go around a 4 inch pug, or an extrusion. It's design lends itself to the slicing and cutting of handbuilding, or at the wheel it fits well in the hand. It also works great as a faceting tool. This is one tool that once you use it, you will ask yourself 'how did I work without it?'
The Mudcutter is made of stainless steel with a surgical stainless steel wire under tension. It is easy to change the wires, if needed. The handle has an insert made from the same material as the ribs. The tool is made so you can lay it in a bucket of water and it won't rust or degrade. This is a lifetime tool.
There is also a curly cutting wire to create additional patterned cuts. Additional wires can be purchased if you happened to break the wire. Although it is highly unlikely that you should ever break it!

* SHREDDER *
|
"Michael SherrilI realized that the Sure Form tool was an excellent shaper of clay, but the handle did not function well with clay. It would easily clog and then frustrate the user. The answer was to change the design of the handle. The shredder handle is a production version of the most useful and handy tools one could have in their ceramic tool box. We know you'll love it as much as we do!
